I have to admit I was very skeptical about these books because I do not really like mysteries but I am allready on the 4th book in the series, I'm hooked. If you like needlework of anykind you will get a kick out of these books. I think they are very well written and I love the way she has included needlework of all kinds.
Terrific book

Loved this book - I love cozies & knitting & this covered both of them. I was a bit surprised at Margo's being killed but actually I think most of us can identify more with Betsey anyway (I know I can - although I am a better knitter ).
Provides a great break from your own needlework projects.

As as avid quilter/needleworker I enjoyed this book tremendously. It was a cozy, light read that I was able to pick up when I was at a frustration point with my current needlework project. I was fairly sure I recognized the killer before the end of the book but for me it was a toss-up between two characters. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting a cozy mystery to help them through creatively restless hours of their own. I'm already eagerly awaiting the next book and I've added Monica Ferris to my list of what I call my favorite "gentle" murder mystery writers.
Needlework and Mystery-a delightful combination!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Crewel World. Although I was able to figure out who the murderer was before the end, I was not disappointed. I loved the backdrop of the stitchery shop and the characters. Anyone who frequents a shop like Crewel World could relate to the storyline. Hopefully, there are more visits with Betsy and company on the horizon.
interesting backdrop and evenly paced.

as a spinner/knitter/mystery lover the subject matter of the book was very intriguing.... i got all my favorites in one book! but that didn't keep me reading it...the story is well written and evenly paced. ms. ferris writes with a more realistic tendency than some other 'current mystery writers' and does not remotely resemble the 'gumshoe detective'. it's one of those rare books that makes you want to read it right through.... it's hard to put down. i can't wait for her next book.
