At one point, hearing a medium speak for his first wife, who is deceased, he openly suspects that Kate and her friend are trying to manipulate him-and Kate is crushed. And so Kate finds herself on the painful front edge of great dilemma: Should she end the relationship with Jack, whom she cares for but who cannot accept a belief on which her reality is founded? How can she resolve this deeply divisive issue? This story picks up where the novel In The Light Of Winter left off, facing an important struggle-about two people divided by beliefs-and how one woman comes to a resolution.
