Ade Simmons has been an outsider for a long time. He has been in an abusive relationship and has sought refuge in his work as a radio producer and in the checklists he creates to try to take back control of his pathetic excuse for a life.
Actor Kris Johansson possesses all the qualities Ade's ex-boyfriend lacks: patience, gentleness, and desire. When Kris accepts a position in one of Ade's plays, there is an immediate and mutual attraction. It is Ade's pivotal moment. He has two options: he may continue down the same path with Fergus, the bully who has separated, repressed, and used him from his friends and family, or he can turn around and go for Kris, the attractive actor with welcoming family and friends. But Fergus is not going to give up his punching bag that easy. Will Ade ever get the courage to fight back?
