Great Curl Guide

This curly convert thought Ouidad's book was very informative. I have had frizzy wavy hair forever and got tired of having it straightened. Ouidad taught me a sensible system for bringing out and caring for my natural curl. My hair never looked better now that I have the tools to control it. Ouidad gets right to the point and covers all the basics, from washing to conditioning to styling. It is also a fun and easy read, with many anecdotes along the way. I appreciate that Ouidad created her own products, as I don't have the time to search through the many products on the market. Her products are excellent, and the fact that I can purchase them from her streamlines the process. Another great book is Curly Girl by Lorraine Massey. I find switching back and forth between the two books' techniques gives me many choices on how to make my hair look great every day.

Love Your Curls!!!!

I have to admit...I have never loved my curls. If you have curly hair, you know what I am talking about......UNTIL Ouidad! Her styling system and knowledge of curls is unbelievable! The afternoon I had my 1st Ouidad hair cut I cried. Not tears of sorrow, yet tears of joy!!!!! I finally had found the love for my curls. To this day, the book, the system and the products have changed the way I appreciate my curls. (I haven't dried my hair out straight in over a year!!!!!! Anyone with curly hair needs to read this book!

FANTASTICALLY CURLY

This book is amazing. I have had curly hair my whole life and hated it. I would spend hours every day straightening my hair so it looks somewhat normal. After years of thinking my curly hair was hopeless and I was "cursed" by it, I finally realized I'm lucky and unique to have curly hair. Following the guidelines in this book and using Ouidad hair products saved me. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has the slightest wave in their hair.

Great book to regain control of your hair!

I have wavy, frizzy, wild & crazy hair. No joke, my sunglasses get stuck in them. I have no time or patience (and 2 left hands), so my hair was always weighted down or left frizzy. I first saw Ouidad on the E! Channel with Linda Lopez (J.Lo's sis) and thought, if only I lived in NY I would have a place to go. Then, weeks later, I saw her again on The Early Show, promoting her new book. Even though I am a born skeptic, I got the book (hey, I saw her on 2 national TV shows in a month, she must know what she is doing). I tried other books about hair care and curly hair, and they never help and I end up frustrated that I listened to the reviewer in the first place. But this book has really helped me. Reading about what ingredients to look for in hair products and which to avoid alone was worth it to me. It shows you how to care for your hair from washing and drying, styling and blowing straight, how to pick a stylist, and tells you the truth about the myths of curly hair.I don't have skills concerning my hair, but I am getting the hang of it since reading CURL TALK. And if I can get soft, bouncy curls on my own, then so can everyone else!

This is the best curly hair book yet

This is the type of book I have been looking for. I bought Curly Girl, and didn't like it. It seemed to un-realistic. Ouidad explains in simple and easy steps on how to work with your hair. She also gives examples of others with curly hair, which I like to read.
