A Powerful Devotional For Radical Disciples

Steve Hill is to be commended for his book DAILY AWAKENINGS which is truly just that. It is a daily book of short devotionals (usually taking less than 5 minutes unless you are using Hill's Scripture references in order to read through your Bible). The devotionals range from convicting to encouragement (which are both found in Scripture) and most contain quotes from famous Christians of the past such as William Booth, John Wesley, Leonard Ravenhill, A.W. Tozer, and many of the Puritans. The quotes are worth the price of this book! Overall this is a solid devotional. It is not of the weak Christian line of devotionals that comforts us in our sins but confronts us to live for eternity (2 Corinthians 4:16-18). Hill wants us to be prepared for the judgment seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:9-11) and he wants us to take as many souls to heaven with us as we can for the glory of the risen Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20). A good book!

Many devotionals are full of nothing. Not this one! Steve Hill combines scripture, his own expectant faith and confidence in God's omnipotence with the writings of believers throughout the centuries. I appreciate all the research and prayer that went into this book. It not only challenges your heart, but also your mind and your thinking.

After hearing many of Steve Hill's fiery sermons, I didn't know what to expect from his devotional book. I have been consistently amazed by the tenderness of his writing and the encouragement I get each day I use this book.The devotional includes not only Hill's take on scripture, but also stands on the shoulders of many of Christianity's greats to drive God's Word into the hearts of readers.It's arranged in a "daily" format and includes four scripture selections at the bottom of each page that lead you through the whole Bible in the same time it takes you to get through the book.Buy it and prepare for God to change you!

I LOVE this devotional! Whenever I need a word from the Lord, It's there. It has scriptures to read also, at the bottom..each day. And all kinds of cool stuff! I can turn to any page randomly and be blessed..It's so cool! Well, If y ou get ONE BOOK this year..Make it this one...Only if you're serious about your relationship with Jesus, and wanting to know him more!
