Excellent for review or extra practice

I bought this after my son's 2nd grade teacher recommended that we give him some extra word problem practice here at home. The book is broken down so that there is one problem for each day during the week - this would make it very handy for teachers who like to put a problem on the board for students to work on before school in the morning. We are not using it that way - my son completes the two facing pages, which can be anywhere from 2 to 4 problems. Not too many, and not hugely complicated. The book also has the Grade Two scope and sequence chart in the beginning, helpful for anyone looking for specific areas to work on. The problems range from simple addition/subtraction, to money and time. I highly recommend this - not necessarily for *teaching*, but as a resource to assist in the learning process, and to review what has already been taught.
Great foundational book for homeschoolers

I am happy with the structure and content of this workbook and all the other grade level books by this publisher; I used them in first and second grade with my son and plan to do the same with my daughter. I piece together my curriculum from lots of different sources, using this publisher as my primary source for geography, math, spelling and language.

Excellent daily practice for those little-ones having a hard task in breaking down "word problems". Not overwhelming, but simple clear exercises. I would recommend this booklet.Daily Word Problems, Grade 2 (Daily Word Problems)
Fun way to stress word problems

This was my daughter's favorite book last year. She begged me to get the third grade one for this coming year as well. She liked the different themes every week (she would try to guess the next theme and enjoyed the anticipation). The problems themselves were solid (made the kids think) but not overly tricky. She solved 95% of them with no guidance at all (I will state math is her strong subject though). Overall, this is a great book to get kids enthusiastic about word problems.

My 7 year old loves to work on the daily problems before school. It has helped him become a better math student.
