Read "Lord of the Flies" instead.

Wings aren't the only thing that Prasad has "borrowed". "Damselfly" is a blatant ripoff of the classic "The Lord of the Flies", even to the title, but much, much more poorly written. Prasad's trademark overblown prose is showcased here, along with her wooden characters and soggy pacing.
If your child's school forces them to read this drivel, please remind them that torture is against the Geneva Convention, and suggest that they find something else that won't turn them off of reading forever.
