The Gemini Killer targets twins. He takes one. He leaves the other. But one of the survivors has grown up. Eighteen years ago, FBI Agent Rachel Ward's mirror twin was kidnapped. Now, she's coming after the monster who stole her sister, because another twin has been abducted, and Rachel won't let Gemini escape again. In this relentless, edge-of-your-seat thriller, Kate Kessler provides a harrowing look at how the past is never truly put to rest. I discovered Kate Kessler quite by accident when I ordered Seven Crows because it sounded pretty good. Well, I have now read all of her novels and haven't been disappointed yet. This one was different from her series books because the protagonist, Rachel, was a totally different heroine from the ladies in her other novels. Dead Ringer had some very graphic scenes and a very sick and sadistic serial killer which made it a little hard to read at times, but it was still well worth it. Overall, this was an intensely powerful and haunting thriller that I have continued to think about since the final page was read. I hope Kate Kessler continues to write because she is definitely one of my new favorite authors.
