Donna Anders has been praised for writing "magnificent" (Ann Rule) psychological suspense thrillers with "subtle touches that Hitchcock would have loved" (Edna Buchanan). Now she sends a young Seattle... This description may be from another edition of this product.
A major fan of psychological thrillers, I found this book to be among the top in this genre. The female protagonist, Liza MacDonough, is compelling, strong, and believable. Although understandably frightened by a string of fatal "accidents" to people close to her, she remains proactive in trying to research her clients' complaints of conspiracy. Donna Anders excels at making every character we meet, a possible anatagonist, so that we, along with Liza, don't know whom to trust. For analytical readers who love to problem solve, this story will delight you. The suspense keeps you caught in its grip right up through the end.
Have Time set aside for this one

In the same way that I have seen plane passengers enjoy being transported into dust eating denizens of the west by L'Amour books, this latest effort by Donna Anders will make someone look over his or her shoulder as they get caught caught up in the thrilling action of "Dead Silence." Ms Anders pushes all the right buttons. Check your cardiac function and don't plan to fall asleep reading this book. If this is your reading material during a long plane flight, double up on the deodorant!

I went to book reading on a friday night and had Donna sign my book. I had never heard of her and after hearing her talk I decided to give her book a try. Ann Rule was right.. She is an amazing artist. This book was started at 4 saturday afternoon and finished by 7.I had intended to look at the first page.No go. I had to read the whole thing in one sitting. I was floored. It was so scary I didn't want to to put it down without making sure everything was over first. The book is about a woman who works at a Boeing like company in Seattle find that there might be a conspirisy in the hiring firing practices of her company. I can't really tell you much more beyond that, but I will tell you that you are never really sure in this book who to trust and who not too.I love that about a good book. You feel so familiar and them wham that familiarity gets you in the gut. It's one of those books that hits very close to home.I don't think I can ever live in a city agian without thinking about this book. It changes views makes you think a little more. But that's a good thing. A good book stays with you.
A Chilling Mystery in Seattle

In the movies, Seattle is usually depicted as a romantic spot ("Sleepless in Seattle,") and in soap operas as the place everyone disappears to when they're written off the show. In Anders' latest psychological suspense, the streets, alleys, houseboats, high-rise condos and the aircraft industry of the Emerald City are permeated with terror that surpasses even her first two thrillers (Another Life and The Flower Man.) Anders has a terrific sense of suspense and she is a real story teller. I didn't know who the "bad guy--" (Bad girl?) was right up until the end, and I began to glance over MY shoulder to see who might be following ME because I got so caught up in the scariness of Dead Silence. Donna Anders is surely destined to be one of America's top suspense writers, and Dead Silence proves it. Note: Do not read this book alone at night!
I couldn't turn the pages fast enough

And I thought Another Life and The Flower Man were scary! The suspense in Dead Silence started from the very first page and did not let up: esculating and building a frightening situation, resolving into a terrifying climax. I read all night and continued to do so even when my vision blurred from fatigue. I couldn't put this book down until I'd finished reading it! I am already anticipating Donna Anders next book. I can hardly wait!
