We had this little book many years ago, then lost it some where along the line. Very happy to have found it again. Satan is revealed as just what he is by Dr. Lovett. The source of all evil. So many times these days we make light of him: The Devil Made Me Do It..., etc. He delights in this because he knows we don't take him seriously. Our eternity depends on doing just that. He is real, he is driven, he is deadly.

This title was published the year I was born and my father purchased it shortly thereafter. I saw it often in his bookcase of ministerial study and reference books, but it was not until he passed in 2000 and I inherited his books that I took the time to read this short but powerful work. Lovett addresses issues in our daily lives where we are tempted and controlled by satan often without our awareness. However, as Christians we have the tools to thwart satan's plans simply by pray and bible study. It is an easy read, written from a personal perspective displaying his immense knowledge of the scriptures. It is a study guide in that it was originally accompanied with a pack of index cards to be used each morning in a "mirror meditation" to facilitate the learning of scripture passages which will help one turn back the temptation of the devil. Mind you, this is only possible through the power of God, prayer and bible study. Once put into action, it is a powerful program that will result in stronger faith in God and a richer understanding of his word. It is amazing to use the weapon of God's word to stop the devil in his tracks!

I first read this book shortly after being saved, I would strongly recomend it for new and old Christians . This book gives you a practical insight to the warfare that we are in and helps you to recognize the enemy before there is a crisis.Reading this book gave me the tools I needed to fight the devil and win because it taught me how to use God's word and to depend more on the power of God and less on myself.

This book opened my eyes to some of my own problems. The old saying that we are our own worst enemy is true and this book reveals how this can happen to us. The core of it is our self-centeredness. As children we find that people revolve around our needs, but often people do not grow out of that. A God centered person has their mind on God, a self-centered person has their mind on self. Satan is at the core of self and C.S. Lovett unravels this truth beautifully. I highly recommend this book!
