The bundle of letters tied around with a piece of ecru seam tape had been on the closet shelf for months waiting to be read and then possibly tossed, a part of the many letters my mother, Marge had accumulated during her 96 years. Dear Sis... then the next, Dear Sis...and the next, about 30 letters in all from her two brothers and my dad's two brothers, all written after they were inducted into military service and deployed between 1942-1946. The letters were written by ordinary young men who answered the call to duty and honor to protect their country and their families.
