It's spring in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and Lucy and Connor have moved into their new home at last, a historic cottage on the Nags Head Beach. Lucy is now happily immersed in her work at the Bodie Island Lighthouse Library, planning her wedding, and decorating the house. That is, until a dead body disrupts their peaceful new abode. Meanwhile, the Classic Novel Reading Club is reading The House of the Seven Gables by Nathanial Hawthorne, a book about another old house full of secrets. Can Lucy find parallels to her own situation in Hawthorne's fiction before the killer strikes again?
This has become my favorite series! I love all the characters and personalities that Eva Gates has introduced and the progression of friendships formed, old and new. There is wonderful humor, plus a well thought of mystery. The thought of a lighthouse library is so enchanting and you can feel the love Lucy has for her job there as the assistant director of the library and especially Charles the library cat! It’s been a wonderful journey following Lucy from her lighthouse apartment to her fixer upper beach house with her fiancé the mayor. I so look forward to the next book in this delightful series.
Cozy Mystery

This is a Cozy Mystery, and this is the 9th book in the Lighthouse Library Mystery Series. I love this series, and I have read the other books in this book series before picking up this book. I love the characters in this book. I loved the mystery/suspense in this book, but I did miss her living in the lighthouse. I hope the next book in this book series will have more of the lighthouse library in it. I am glad she has Charles the library cat at her new house. I cannot wait for her wedding. I did enjoy getting to know Connor's father. I did not guess the killer or who was messing with Lucy's house. Great Fun Read. I re-read this book by listening to the audiobook, and I really liked the narrator of the audiobook. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
