You will laugh, weep and maybe even cringe at this bunch of unreliable characters, among them a recently retired man death-cleaning in preparation for selling his home, a mother unaware of her resentment toward her second child, a teenaged couple hiding flaws as they discover love, a salesman who calls his father so he can hear the voice of his dead mother on a voicemail recording, a man in love with the voice of his GPS, and a young wife whose escape is not from an internal voice, but another more sinister one.
These stories ask us to recognize the vulnerability of these well-intentioned characters. They encourage us to ask, do you recognize the ephemeral 'units of measure' that cause us conflict, particularly the ones you carry within yourself? Recognizing that only a few are the same among us may move you toward increased empathy, compassion, understanding, love, and above all, forgiveness.
