From a murder in Paris to a courtroom in California to a terrorist camp in the Gobi Desert, Don Brown's follow-up to Treason and Hostage plunges into a suspense-filled journey of danger, duty, and hope. The Commander's Bodyguard is Shannon McGilverry, a crack NCIS agent assigned to protect Navy JAG Officer Zack Brewer. Zack is being hunted by terrorists, stalked by a psychopath, and is working his way through a perilous, politically-charged trial. When another Navy JAG officer is murdered, it's clear that Zack is in harm's way. As his bodyguard, Shannon must do more than protect Zack. She also must set aside her growing feelings for the brilliant attorney and investigate rumors that the love of his life, Diane Colcerninan, may still be alive. Zack finds himself in need of his faith more than ever as Navy SEALS launch a daring rescue attempt that has the potential to trigger World War III.
Wow ! The reviewer who castigated those of us who find merit in Mr. Brown's books has quite an ax to grind with her negative comments regarding the bigotry, clannishness, and hatred she CLAIMS are so blatantly obvious in his writing. Why do so many liberals denigrate Christian conservatives who are proud to be patrioyic Americans - Americans who are deeply concerned with the safety of our beloved country? There is MUCH truth in Brown's writing regarding the frightening danger inherent in allowing vehemently anti-American individuals to become members of American armed forces. How is it possible for ANY American who loves our country to be oblivious to this UNQUESTIONABLE authentic danger? Please wake up if you're one of those who support ANYONE becoming an American service member regardless of their affiliation and loyalty to a country other than the U.S.A.

This is an enjoyable read for a conservative. There are characters representing the Clintons, and former President Bush in his anti-terrorist campaign. I liked it. Bill

As a retired military officer I found this three book series a spell binder. Military accuracy was very good and it seemed as though the author had a crystal ball when he developed the plot. Two recent events, the terrorist attack at Fort Hood and the threatened court-martial of Navy Seals for allegedly "roughing up" a captured terrorist were forecast in his book with near detail that is almost eerie in its near accuracy. Highly recommended reading for everyone and especially those that have become complacent over the very real terrorist threats to this country.

I really like this sequel to Treason - the Christian connection is much stronger than in Treason, at times, making Zack seem a slightly different man than the first, without much strength behind his transformation of character. It was great though - fast moving - I could not put it down!
