The book is about a writer named Gary who is suffering from a bad case of writers block. So Gary goes to a colony for a month were there would be no tv,no radio,or phone.But What he didn't know that is the workers at the colony were over a 1000 years old. When those people founded the colony they made a deal with the indians to give them ertenal life. In return they would sacrifice the people who stayed at the colony to them. Paul must get out of the town befor him and the rest at the colony get sacrificed to the old indian.
