Learn about the country's history, culture, people and much more A small Scandinavian nation occupying a peninsula and hundreds of islands, Denmark is home to fewer than 6 million people. However, despite its small size, the country plays a big role in the global economy. Readers will explore Denmark's rich history, from its settlement in prehistoric times to its modern status as one of the world's most prosperous nations. They will also learn about the country's unique style of government, its thriving economy, local cuisine and entertainment, and much more.
While searching for literature on this fascinating Scandinavian country, I ran into this title at my local library, so I picked it up without knowing it was supposedly meant for kids. The fact is that, if you don't mind a tone that does feel a bit funny at times (the way certain things are introduced does give it a children book feel), the book is an amazing introduction to Denmark. The book is loaded with great photos and describes the country in enough detail to get you familiarized with most of what you'd want to learn about it, as an introduction. This is not, however, a tourism guide. If that's what you're after, you're probably better off with the Eyewitness Guide for Denmark.
