J(h, fchreibt von 0ppeln in einem Brief, ber bief er Ginleitung 3ugrunbe gelegt wurbe, "bas fich in bem eutnant von Brieg verk?rpert, m?chte ich heute, wo es fo weit von mir obliegt, nicht verteibigen. Da bie 3ugenb un 3ufrieben tft, ba fie fich an ben fcharfen Gcken ber Konvention bie h?rner abl?uft, tft etwas rilt?gliches. ?ber bi e f e Jugenb hat eine romantifche $?rbung unb ?berfpanntheit, wie bie gan3e Generation nach bem gro en Kriege Gin Brieg m?rbe fich in iebem anbren regul?ren vraktifchen Beruf gleich ungl?cklich unb vereinfamt f?hlen. Darum auch ift bie Kritik, bie er an ben Jnftitutionen ?bt, nur von relativem wm: er beurteilt alles mit ben R e r v e n nicht mit bem Kopfe, unb bas tft bas eigentlich Romantifche unb 3rrationale an ihm.
