Diamond Number Three: Grandstander

In this book I take a journey down memory lane to the old baseball diamond across from my old house in Kansas City I grew up in and try to apply some of the lessons I learned there to modern-day life. Baseball was always America's favorite pastime and us kids learned and grew up on the baseball fields that would inevitably become the fields of dreams. We figured out how to strike out bruisers to prevent them from hitting homeruns and stealing bases and making it home safe. The bruisers these days are far more dangerous than our schoolyard foes but at the time we didn't think so. We never would've imagined we'd end up fighting bullies our entire lives as we live out our American dreams on the mean streets of Americana. I guess nobody ever said it was going to be easy and nobody ever promised us a rose garden but dodging bullets and avoiding road rage murder was never foreshadowed. They were simpler times but gave us the foundation to survive the onslaught of machinegun wielding lunatics and scam artist politicians and I'm grateful for that.
