I would highly recommend the audiobook version of Diamondhead. The narrator, who is a master of different national accents and multiple personalities, brings a dimension and depth to this novel that is impossible in the book version alone. If you have already read Diamondhead, I strongly recommend the audiobook version. You will not be disappointed. For example, the narrator's French accent for the different characters is so good that I thought I was listening to an episode of the Pink Panther as the French authorities and villains fumble their entire game trying to keep up with Mack. The Maine accent given to Mack, his family and the shipyard owner is incredibly authentic and American. Finally, the courtroom scene is done perfectly; I thought I was listening to the audio track to A Few Good Men. Usually I find that narrators are limited in their reading of characters and accents and that they can distort or diminish the author's original work. Surprisingly, in the case of Diamondhead, the narrator elevates the author's intent, suspense, character development, and adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed this one as a genre I particularly like and which is hard to develop in a believeable plot. Robinson succeeds quite nicely, and with great humor, compassion, suspense, authenticity, and much more.

This was typical Patrick Robinson. This was a new story that captured the reader from page 1 and I only regretted when I finished the book.
Too bad this isn't real person

This is a brand new series from Patrick Robinson. It has no politics. Just a fast-paced story of a damaged Navy SEAL reeling from a dishonorable discharge who is caught in plot that will either save his hometown and his dying little boy, or destroy his entire world. In my opinion, this is a brilliant new tack for Patrick. It's about character, honor, bravery, and love. There is a great love story weaved throughout this modern day narrative of revenge at the highest level. Highly recommended! Did you know Patrick can also be found on twitter now? He's "specwarcom".
