Hilarious cartoons about the foibles of the "great" game of golf
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 16 years ago
This collection of cartoons about the highs, lows and frustrations of golf is hilarious. The hazards are everything from alligators, wrong turns, to creatures from another planet, but in all cases Moore manages to capture the essence of the game that fascinates and frustrates so many. My favorite cartoon is the one on page 108 where the husband is sitting at the table with a cup of coffee and reading a newspaper. His thought caption is "I wish I could go golfing." His wife has her apron on and is washing the dishes in the sink. Her thought caption is "I wish he would go golfing." The caption at the bottom of the cartoon is "Communication breakdown." It just doesn't get any funnier than that. If you love golf, hate golf or don't have an opinion, you will find these cartoons funny. For like the best cartoons based on a theme (golf), they have applicability to life beyond the theme (golf).
