Whether you own one or are close with someone who does, it's pretty easy to recognize the importance of the penis. But in fact there is next to no reliable information on nearly every man's and many women's favorite little friend. Now, in Dick, two women doctors boldly provide readers with a much-needed handbook that guides, educates, and dispels all the common misconceptions about the penis. In open and direct language interspersed with humorous word play and funny anecdotes, Drs. Michele Moore and Caroline de Costa thoroughly describe the anatomy, functions, proper hygiene, safety, and effective handling of the most friendly male appendage. Other key topics include: size (does it matter?), condoms, sex, premature ejaculation, as well as infections, infertility, injuries, and cancer. Written for both men and women, young and old, Dick promises to teach, entertain, and demystify for the benefit of everyone involved. Including real-life stories taken from the authors' own medical practices, Dick offers a comprehensive, practical, and entertaining guide to the penis--and all its ups and downs.
I got this thinking the "doctor" association of the author would lend more authority & substance to the book than it did (at least for me). Don't get that comment wrong though, the book is very sound & covers all the basics any memeber of either sex should know. But; alas, that is about all it does besides throw in some very good humor. I think I was looking for something more contemporary, that included more on male sexual response & psycology as well as the variability of female views of male sexuality; the book is very thin in this area. All in all it has to be said; however, that this work should be read by anyone and every one that may have anything to do with its main topic (which should include about 99.999% of us).

A very informative book, which answers many questions, puts to bed some common myths, and tackles a sensitive subject with good natured humor and expertise.
Size Doesn't Matter?

The size of this book is not indicative of it's power to please and satisfy. These chapters quickly cover lots of information, things that are not only interesting, but essential to good health and responsible relationships. The tone throughout is upbeat, and reassuring, with lots of humorous wordplay and individual anecdotes to make entertaining what could otherwise have become didactic and preachy. The language is easy to understand. These two women seem to have had a lot of fun writing about our "special feature", using the words we use when we are not feeling self-conscious. They do all this while still being respectful. In fact, the whole message of the book seems to be respect. With it we can better know who we are, and better take care of ourselves.
How About That Cover ?

Well well well, I never thought I would enjoy reading a book about the most valued and loved male appendage, but boy was I wrong. While being quite witty throughout, Dick is an informative and easy-reading book that throws light on to a whole range of issues that I (and I think most guys) would not otherwise know or think to ask about . Full marks to the authors for putting together a great read.
Dick - good for users, owners and health professionals

Although I am a male and a doctor, therefore possessed of a vested interest in the subject, I discovered many things in this book about the penis I was unaware of. Humorous and informative, it makes excellent reading for the 'owner', 'user' and is a also good resource for doctors to recommend for their patients. Subjects are presented sympathetically, and although humour is used it is never at the expense of the (sometimes) unfortunate men in the case histories. The aim is rather to demystify and render the topic less embarrassing for the reader. Serious health issues are encompassed as well more cosmetic issues such as that hoary old chestnut - size! This book is a good antidote to endless spam emails offering penile enlargement which prey on men's insecurity. Congratulations to the authors for providing us with a funny, informative manual on the male member.
