From the moment we surprised our 2 year old daughter with this book propped on her pillow in bed, she loved it! She has an unusual affinity for this animal, so she was delighted. I was surprised at how small it is -- something like 4" X 6". The facts are great, and it is written in simple language. Our daughter tells everyone that an armadillo doesn't have a shell, it has a carapace (we learned this from the book). I recommend it to anyone who has a crush on armadillos.
