This study investigates the transformative role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the processes of news gathering and dissemination within contemporary media landscapes. With the advent of digital communication tools, traditional journalism practices have undergone significant changes, enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and immediacy of news reporting. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, utilizing surveys and interviews with journalists to assess the effectiveness of various ICT tools, including social media, e-mail, and online platforms, in facilitating news collection and distribution. Findings indicate that ICT has not only reduced operational costs but has also expanded the scope of information sources available to journalists, enabling them to engage in real-time reporting and audience interaction. The study highlights the challenges faced by media organizations in adapting to rapid technological advancements while also identifying best practices for leveraging these tools to improve news quality.
