I can't recommend too highly this wonderful guide to inner well-being. The author draws nicely from Taoist, Hindu, Buddhist, and other great spirtual traditions to offer the Western reader detailed and practical advice on how to realize one's true spiritual nature. The unifying thread in the book is that we are essentially spiritual beings intimately connected to the Great Cosmic Spirit. Our sufferings come about when we forget this true nature and deep connection, when we attach ourselves to our transient material manifestations and the world of illusion. The author is refreshingly free from dogma or pedantry as he discusses these and other key ideas. Also, he suggests many exercises and meditation themes that enable the reader to internalize and reinforce the insights learned. (Example: Pay attention to and savor performing a routine household "chore"--a classic Zen Buddhist exercise.)The book is gracefully illustrated by many full-colored artworks that perfectly complement the wisdom and beauty of the text.I owe a lot to this book for opening my eyes to my true nature and making me a better person. (For one thing, I've overcome my long-standing short temper by reading it.) Fellow spirit, I hope you learn as much from it as I did.Thank you very much, Mr. George

This book is well worth it from just an aesthetic standpoint! I picked it up recently while on vacation and was taken by what a visually attractive book it is - beautiful graphics, high quality paper, conducive to "inner peace" even before reading the text. I was surprised at the low cost considering the high quality production. I just enjoy holding and looking at it. But beyond that, the book is well organized and contains many fruitful exercizes, is well written and inspirational. I recommend it!
