I'm one of those people who think that kids should be multi-lingual. I learned Spanish and English together, and I've benefited from that my whole life (except when I was very young, when complete strangers felt justified in smacking little kids for speaking Spanish). Knowing more than one language is helpful even when you just want your child to focus on English. Having an understanding of Spanish helped me with English vocabulary, and I think one of the areas in which today's kids are lacking is in reading skill and vocabulary mastery, so here you go--the perfect little starter books for your bilingual (and hopefully ultimately multi-lingual) child! I bought a slew of these for a co-worker's baby shower, and I was very pleased with them overall. The stories are VERY short, but the Spanish vocab is superb and REAL, not TexMex or slang. The translations are good ones, and I like the art as well.
