Transmitting down from Nerva Beacon, the Doctor, Sarah and Harry find themselves on Earth in the far future, long-since abandoned by the human race. But it soon becomes clear that they are not alone:... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Following on directly from 'The Ark in Space', this was a bit of an oddity. Ian Marter, who played Harry Sullivan, adapts it into book form.Transmatting down to Earth to ensure the planet is fit for human rehabitation, the Doctor, Sarah and Harry find themselves caught in a series of experiments aimed at determining the strengths and weaknesses of humanity. The experiments are being conducted by a Sontaran. This book varies noticeably from the televised story towards the end - probably because, as a 2 episode serial, it was a little light-on for story content. The adaptation good and clear, and helps to show why the Sontarans are the fourth most frequently encountered alien race in the Doctor Who series.
