Arriving on a jungle planet, Doctor Who and Leela soon find themselves hunted by a hideous alien lifeform, which appears to be some kind of robot with a taste for human flesh. This description may be from another edition of this product.
In Chris Boucher's first foray into writing "Doctor Who" novels, the Doctor and Leela arrive on what seems like a harmless planet, but soon run into a group of police investigators who are searching for an unknown "runner". It soon becomes apparent that the planet is not what it seems...
Without spoiling anything else, I found "Last Man Running" to have an interesting premise. The Fourth Doctor's character is portrayed accurately, and the character of Leela is spot on, most likely because Chris Boucher is the person who created Leela for the TV series. I also thought that the investigators were interesting. The identity of the real "runner" surprised me, and I won't spoil who it is for anyone who has not read the book yet.
To conclude this review, any fans of Leela and the Fourth Doctor will enjoy this book and are in for a good read.
