"Does a Duck Have a Daddy?" is one of several books by Fred Ehrlich, M.D. (illustrated by Emily Bolam) in the Early Experiences series. This book compares animal characters with humans to help kids learn more about fathers ("daddies") and parents in general. Readers learn several interesting things, such as that the father seahorse gives birth, and while some animals are given no parental care after birth, others are quite well-cared-for for many years. None, however, is cared for as long as the human child. A fun book, detailed, and most intriguing. I think any kid who's a fan of the show "Stanley" would like this book. It's also just a good teaching book in general. This is the second book in the series I've read, and I definitely plan to check out more.
