Marcail, the youngest of the Donovan children, accepts a teaching position in the small town of Willits, and comes up against an embittered old woman, who rules the town with an iron fist. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Donovan's daughter details Marcail, the youngest Donovan, move to a new town away from family to be a teacher. Marcail meets the town doctor, who is a wonderful Christian man, but she doesn't trust doctors. This book is a nice finish to the series. My favorite in the series is "Sean Donovan" but this book is well worth the read. The romance is developed nicely and Lori Wick has a wonderful way of writing books that you can't put down! Another good read!

This book was just as wonderful as the first three of this 4 part series. Each of 'The Californians' books made me cry and feel a part of the family and all the experiences they went through. Great historical romance story of a family that puts God first no mater what happens.
A book well worth your time!!!

I can never get tired of this book. I've read it numerous times, and am captivated every time I read it. It follows up Sean Donovan very nicely. It also shows that God is in everything, and has complete control over every situation. Happy reading, and God Bless!!!!

Frightened of doctors ever since her mother died when she was 9, Marcail sets out on her own to teach school. Providence has her caught in a snow storm and found by a doctor....who just happened to be in love with her, but she is afraid of him and keeps him away. Scandalous and outcast in her town, she has to make the hardest decision of her young life.......and the book was wonderful as always of Lori Wick. I am sorry to have this series end!

I've just finished this sweet book about growing up, accomplishing goals, learning to communicate and facing childhood fears. Donovan's daughter was a wonderful conclusion to the Californian series. I'm glad I was able to experience the Donovan family and their struggles and joys.
