A Pleasant Surprise & A Nice Break From Series Books...

Dragon for Sale was a smash hit in our household. Without spoiling the plot, it's safe to disclose that the book's young protagonist yearns for puppy but, through the intervention of mystical forces, unwittingly adopts a far more unique and challenging pet. Not only did my four-year-old son thoroughly enjoy hearing the book read to him, but I was surprised by what a pleasure the book was to read. My wife also enjoyed the book, as did our friend's daughter, a voracious elementary-school reader (and sophisticated critic). The plot was fresh and creative, while the writing propelled the story along at a nice pace. There were some good laughs, a well orchestrated tear-jerker ending, a spattering of helpful illustrations, and, fortunately, nothing to frighten young readers. Give it a try -- you and your children won't be disappointed.

I ordered this book for my 8 year old daughter who hates to read. She loved it. She laughed her way through it and even read it again.
