Read the USA Today bestseller from the author of Roses, a "sumptuous, full-bodied, and emotional" novel about five young spies embedded among the highest Nazi ranks in occupied Paris (Adriana Trigiani, NYT bestselling author of Tony's Wife). At the height of World War II, a handful of idealistic young Americans receive a mysterious letter from the government, asking them if they are willing to fight for their country. The men and women from very different backgrounds -- a Texan athlete with German roots, an upper-crust son of a French mother and a wealthy businessman, a dirt-poor Midwestern fly fisherman, an orphaned fashion designer, and a ravishingly beautiful female fencer -- all answer the call of duty, but each for a secret reason of her or his own. They bond immediately, in a group code-named Dragonfly. Thus begins a dramatic cat-and-mouse game, as the group seeks to stay under the radar until a fatal misstep leads to the capture and the firing-squad execution of one of their team. But is everything as it seems, or is this one more elaborate act of spycraft?
Good Book But Not As Good As Other Leila Meacham Bookx

Leila Meacham is a great author. I loved "Tumbleweeds", "Roses", "Somerset" and "Titans". All of those books take place in Texas and are great historical novels. "Dragonfly" is about 5 22-year-old men and women sent to Paris during WWII as spies for the US. They just happened to all encounter one of two high-ranking German officers who turned out to hate Hitler and come to their aid once the spies were discovered. I found this book highly unrealistic.
World war ll

Excellent, Excellent story from start to finish ! Wonderful story line, great description of all the Characters, places, and events ! The story will keep you at the edge of your seat, as events unfold, and you could feel yourself getting scared for the kids and the different situations they are involved in. Will they be found out...and all their covers blown..and face certain death ? Brilliantly written story, that I highly recommend. If I could, I would definitely ...beyond a doubt give this book 10 Stars !!!! Truly a must read for world war ll history buffs, with alot of spying going on against the Germans to relay back to the Americans, to help win this terrible war, and a little romance thrown in too. Really good read !
