I love flowers, have a garden that is a great joy for me, but recently it became a bit shadier because of construction next door...so this excellent, informative book is being read now from cover to cover, and I know, because of it, I will have blooms as always in my garden this year!
Great introductory book

I recently got five shade gardening books in one "go" and this is the one I like the best. It is very practical with advice for the "klutzy" or novice gardener. My one complaint is not enough pictures of the plants described - but get a picture guide (like the Taylor's guide) as a complementary book and you'll be all set. It also has a mail-order nursery guide in the back, so you can GET all the plants described. I'm very satisfied with this book.

I bought 5 shade gardening books at once, and this is the one that I like the best. It is very easy to read, informative, and has a good balance between text & pictures. There is much good advice for the novice gardener in this book. Highly recommend.

I have used this book extensively to decided on which plants I want to plant in certain areas. It is not perfectly suited to Québec, as the truly hardy selections are not always included, but very useful in any case
