Great historical fiction of South Africa

I really enjoyed this book from the aspect of the history that I was able to glean about South Africa and Batswana and the challenges faced by that country (those countries) and their people...and some Americans think they/we have it bad with racism...ha! It is not a quick read, and could be perceived as slow, but I just found it enjoyable to take in and learn and feel what the author was trying to convey with her story. Within there is also a fair amount of information re: the desert and lives lived their and challenges faced. I look forward to reading more Beverley Harper books. MR
