El Bernardo es un poema pico escrito por Bernardo de Balbuena en el siglo XVII. La obra narra las aventuras de Bernardo, un joven espa ol que decide viajar a las Am ricas para buscar su fortuna. A lo largo del poema, el autor describe el exotismo y la complejidad de la Am rica de la poca, as como los valores y virtudes que el protagonista debe cultivar para triunfar en el Nuevo Mundo. Esta obra es una muestra destacada de la poes a barroca hispanoamericana.
