New York Times Bestseller Dear Reader, Please note that the text of this story, ELIJAH by Jacquelyn Frank, begins on page 7. The first six pages are the teaser copy, the Also By The Author page, the title page, the copyright page and the dedication. Also on the inside front cover, it lists NOAH as available now. That title will be published in September, 2008. Sorry for any confusion. With three centuries of warring, little more than a decade of uneasy peace has existed between the Lycanthropes and Elijah's people. Now, after a lifetime of suspicion, the warrior in Elijah is consumed with a different battle--winning Siena's heart by giving her pleasure beyond all boundaries. What starts as attraction and arousal soon burns into a passion with consequences that will echo through the ages for both their people. And as would-be enemies become inseparable lovers, another threat approaches, one with the power to destroy them all. . . Surrender to the night.
Elijah is HOT!!! I loved this book and all the others before and after!!! These are must gets. What I like most about this series is how the stories and characters flow from one book to the next. You definitely need to read them in order and you'll start the next one as soon as you finish the first.
ELIJAH IS MUST THAN A WARRIOR

Jacob is a demons executor, the must dark and lonely. Gideon is a mystical, full of knowledge and wisdom, a tormented soul, but Elijah is not only the best warrior of his race, is also a blond demon with the best instinct for battle, the feared hunter if he want a prey, and he want the lycanthropes Queen although this breaks all the rules that always have obeyed The third book of this saga is equally intense and passionate. We discover much more about this Nightwalker world, where the demons, lycanthropes and vampires mostly cross their ways, their lives and their loves in order to survive.
Really like this writer!

I see a lot of disparaging comments about the writer and the characters, but honestly I really like Frank's work. Elijah's story was very good, I can't get over how much I got into each character and the book as a whole. I liked seeing the lycanthropes culture in this one and am really interested to see what she does with the vampire world in Damien. I firmly recommend this book. A refreshing break from Christine Feehan and Sherilyn Kenyon.
Elijah - Yum

The story has been summarized by most other readers so I won't repeat them. This was my first book of this series. I did not realize it was a series when I picked it up on a whim. Well, not such a whim, I liked the cover and the name. I was able to read this and not feel like I was lost because I had not read the previous books. I like the author's style and her ability to make you feel like you can "see" the surroundings. I really like all the characters and felt like I knew and understood them even though I had not read the first two books. The characterization of Demons is refreshing and true to the ancient Daemon because they were not evil by definition, just divine wth different powers. Some nice, some not. I really enjoy the integration of different Nightwalker species and the cross species relationships. I like Siena and her advisors and was happy to see that Gideon will be along shortly with Siena's sister. Cannot wait to see what is in store for Noah. I agree with one of the reviewers who felt the kissing was a bit much, given the intensity of the passion happening. I cannot help but like an author who came up with Elijah. A sensitive, macho brute stud who knows almost immediately he loves Siena. I also admire Siena's character and her sister and advisor. After reading only one book, I also agree with another reviewer about Ruth. Such a hateful character one tries to think of ways to help the auther get rid of her and her crones. I liked this book so much I am getting the first two and have preordered the next.
A "sweet" Demon series?
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 17 years ago
The most surprising thing about this series is the lack of conflict. It's sugary sweet for a book about Demons, Vampires and Lycos. You definitely won't lose any sleep here! The books basis is this: Among the fragile truces between the different night dwellers, they come together to fight human magic makers known as necromancers, who are slowly but surely staking out Vamps and Lycos, and entrapping Demons in pentagrams until they are no longer sane. It's a good series, the characters are all very interesting and you may not miss that bite of, well, crude language and descriptive violence that we have all come to expect in this genre, a refreshing Lore book, and go figure? Sure they get serious injuries and there are some cool battles but those aren't really the focus. The love match is 80% of this book, yes, the sex is nice and steamy, but very tender and the focus is on the intimate fears and feelings the characters are experiencing. The conflict carries from book to book, as in we don't know who the "big bad wolf" is yet, then we can't get them yet and there may be others, the series really needs to be read in order to be fully appreciated. I will definitely follow this series as I have come to know and like the characters very much. We not only revisit past characters as the series progresses, but those characters hold strong roles in every book. 5 stars because sure, it's different, but bravo for that in and of it self!
