A sweeping saga of one fearless man of God facing a decaying nation, a sadistic queen and a totally sensual religion. This magnificent story vividly portrays the heroic adventures of the prophet... This description may be from another edition of this product.
VERY Excellent reading--you won't want to put it down!

This is a gripping re-telling of a story most of us already know about, but few grasp many of its concepts--Elijah. William Stephens places you in the middle of the action with his detailed account of Elijah's struggles as he tried to turn Israel back to her God, and it very explicitly details the religion of ancient Baal worship. The pictures are very realistic, very accurate but often gory or explicit. An eye-opener into what Elijah REALLY faced as he attempted to bring a wayward nation back to God.
Elijah for today

Stephens knows the holy land, geography and history, He skillfully uses this knowledge of the customs and geography of the time of this great Prophet to bring the message to today. Th reader is placed there with Elijah at some of the great times in history, The battle between God and Ahab for the hearts of the nation of Israel. How old is he(Stephens)? I think he was there at the time!
Fantastic novelization!

. . . Many authors have tried to novelize (write novels based on) Biblical stories and/or characters. Only three or four authors have done a good job: Leading the pack are Thom Lemmons and William H. Stephens. . . . This book is well written, entertaining, and (most importantly for this genre of novelization) accurate to the original story. A fantastic job! . . . I just want to know when I'll be able to get a copy for a gift... :)

The author takes you into the time of Elijah with a very detailed account of his life and the area in which he lived. Elijah's personality was shown to be a very determined man with a mission. I quite enjoyed the book, it was hard to put down.
