In the fall of 2001, the Museum of Fine Arts (Museum of New Mexico) in Santa Fe exhibited 30, mostly unseen, paintings by New Mexican Eliseo Rodriguez, considered one of the state's foremost Hispano artists best known for his work in straw applique. Prior to this extraordinary event Rodriguez' profile, nearly 7 decades-long work as a painter had been largely unrecognised. This catalogue features 24 paintings - ranging from still life to New Mexican landscapes to traditional religious themes - made by Rodriguez dating from the early 1930s to the late 1970s and biographical essays on the artist's life and work.
