Reviewed by Samuel Peralta (age 7) for Reader Views (9/08) Emily's favorite holiday is Christmas. She likes to sing carols and she likes to decorate presents. She gives regular presents, but she also gives more important presents. She is kind to her family and her friends. Emily enjoys helping other people. For example, she helps her mother set the table and helps her father decorate the Christmas tree. I liked the story because it reminds me of Christmas and that it is nice to help people. I also liked the pictures. Parent Feedback: This is a wonderful story. I enjoyed this story just as much as my seven-year-old son did. In a time when the majority of kids are focused on material things, this story helps children understand the value of being kind and considerate. It is a simple story, yet it carries an important message. I love the illustrations; they are vibrant and fun to look at. I would recommend "Emily's Christmas Gifts" by Cindy Post Senning and Peggy Post to all parents, teachers, and religious organizations that are looking for a fun book that teaches children values. I am going to read it to my other boys (ages 10-13), then I am ordering a copy for my nieces.
