This was an amazing read.....different zombie novel than anything else out there. Didnt want it to end!!!!

My husband won this book in a contest, and we loved it! The author does something different with zombies and the end of the world, and it works. It's a fast read, not just because it's well-written but because the action really draws you in. There are a lot of characters to follow here, but they come together beautifully and you really feel the deaths and sacrifices you see. I really can't wait for other things from this author! I would recommend this book to folks who like zombies, post-apocalyptic stuff, readers of Pratchett and Harington and anyone else who likes reading something that is fun and meaningful all at once. You will enjoy it.

I loved this book, it had solid action from cover to cover pausing just long enough for the reader to calm down and connect to the characters without losing attention.

Author Dave Dunwoody doesn't flinch and doesn't pull his punches. Be prepared for something different. Permuted Press's formula of twisted, altered horror is upheld superbly in Empire with descriptive, well-written prose, dialogue and several new ideas that make this anything but run-of-the-mill horror. A hero isn't suppose to wear a black robe and carry a scythe. "Empire" is the story of the Grim Reaper himself and a nasty problem he faces - that legions of undead pervert his duty by not being truly dead. When the government has given up and left cities to the zombie plague, Death tries to right the natural order - but must face other supernatural powers who wish to use the disease for their own benefit. A strange and intriguing novel from first page to last, "Empire" is a top pick for horror fans who want a bit of a stranger type of story and community library collections catering to them.
