Rhianna, daughter of a powerful Celtic chieftain and a woman haunted by her mystical gift of prophecy, finds forbidden passion in the arms of her sworn enemy, Marcus, the nephew of the Roman... This description may be from another edition of this product.
The daughter of a powerful celtic chieftain, Rhianna longed to be as free as the wild hawk soaring above the mists of ancient Britain, Instead her tribe trembled in bondage before the hated Roman invaders. And Rhianna was further bound, haunted by her mystical gift of prophecy, enchained by her betrothal to a Celtic Barbarian. Then, as had been foretold in a terrifying vision, Rhianna was attacked by a raging white boar. As in a dream, a man came forth like a magnificent god and swept her into his strong sheltering arms. He was the Roman Tribune, Marcus, and in Rhianna's exquisite beauty he found a prize he would risk his honor and his life to claim. Yet even as Marcus's kisses ignited an unquenchable fire, Rhianna's gift warned of betrayal. Ahead lay a perilous odyssey into the heart of Nero's divided Rome, and a road that led from the heat of passion to the flames of battle where all would be lost or won for dazzling indomitable love. This was an excellent novel. I enjoyed it so much I had to buy it. Marcus isn't the modern man. He puts up with everything Rhianna throws at him. To think that she hurts him so much and yet he can never harm her nor stop loving her. Rhianna wasn't the best of women but she is a great heroine. She put others above herself and even above her love for Marcus. Most people would hate this book but you got to see it on a different level.
