This book is sectioned into the flowers you can make in the front, followed by a clear how-to for each type of stitch required to make the flowers in the back. Each flower gets its own page, which includes a picture of the result, a graphic of which stitches are used, and a chart of the common DMC/Anchor colors that are recommended. The difficulty level is somewhere between beginner and intermediate - it had been many years since I picked up a needle and did crewel type embroidery, yet I found this to be relatively easy to interpret. I've already used it enough that I've broken the spine and the pages are falling out - and that is not a complaint but a compliment. I surprised myself with the successful results I had and believe this book makes it clear enough that you can surprise yourself, too.
