An absolute must have for anyone obsessed with world mythology

I'm a mythology geek, I'm obsessed with it and oftend study it when I have the chance. This is the perfect book for me. It lists all the gods from practically all world religions in alphabetical order, and give you a little blurb of information about them. I also like that there are two indexes, one where you can search gods by religion and one where you can search a god based on phenomena the god is based on/rules over.
Honestly my only complaint is that some gods are listed under one subject instead of multiple (Ex. Athena is listed under war and not also wisdom, Apollo is listed under healing and not also sun, music, poetry. There are so many examples but you get the gist). I also kinda wish that the book also provided different spellings for certain God's names, but that's a nit-pick.
For those who wish there was more written about each god, I think it's important to understand that with some gods there simply just isn't enough information to write about because of information we've lost. I implore people to do their own research on specific gods they need more information.
For an encyclopedia of gods, this one unfortunately doesn't list ALL of them, but it's pretty close and does the job just fine.
A Disappointment.

I was expecting a more in depth book. Thus is the 1993 edition so perhaps it has been upgraded.
The entry for Zephyrous is inaccurate. Zephyrous is Greek God personification of West wind. This, book lists him as Roman and as the South wind. Not us is Greek God of South wind.
So I wonder how many other mistakes there are.
great but it could be better

Well formatted and informative. Lists gods alphabetically and cross references them with names used by other ancient civilizations. Also tells who other members of their family were. A great reference if you are reading the Earth Chronicles series by Zecharia Sitchin. One of my best library additions. A must have!
