It is also the account of the birth and fall of the great Tenochtitlan, hegemonic symbol of one of the empires with the greatest influence in pre-Columbian America.

And it is the chronicle of the emergence of New Spain with its viceregal splendor, a preamble to the storm of independence that was looming in the domains of the Spanish Crown.
