Two hundred years of Ercildoun history. The American Revolution Quakers were considered Traitors. They could not take up arms, swear allegiances or use the new currency (in God we Trust) on it. During The Civil War Friends became outlaws because of their anti-slavery activity. WWII and the 1877 tornado also had great challenges for the village. Village life abounds with peace in the Quaker community of caring Friends. Included is a Quaker Wedding, their annual Picnic, Christmas celebration and First-Day School (Sunday school), including the history of The Church of Christ.
