Escape! from Sugarloaf Mine deals with the tough issue of child-on-child bullying and was written for children ages 6 and up.Bullying is intentional physical and emotional cruelty which can seriously affect a child for the rest of his or her life.* There's nothing new about bullying. It's been one of mankind's greatest blights on civilization since Cain abused Abel. It still hurts. It still leaves lasting negative effects. It still wounds. And sometimes it leads to devastating tragedy. Every seven minutes a child is bullied, and as many as 160,000 students stay home from school on any given day because they're afraid of being bullied.*Escape! from Sugarloaf Mine takes on the issue of bullying from a God-centered perspective, teaching children a Biblical approach to dealing with bullies. It encourages children to take their fears and concerns to God in prayer and trust Him in difficult times. The Word of God tells us that we are not to trust in our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge God, and He will direct our lives. Psalm 37:5: Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. In troublesome situations, we don't have to make difficult decisions based on our own understanding.
