This fact-filled, accessible guide - packed with maps, quizzes, statistics, and information of all kinds, is dispensable, up-to-date references for all ages. In the tradition of Kenneth C. Davis's best selling Don't know Much About... series, Everyday Geography makes research easy and learning fun. The United States book includes in-depth descriptions of each state's land, climate, and industry, plus overviews of the history, people, and events that have shaped it. Both books feature easy-to-read maps and all of the essential knowledge you need to be a global villager, no matter where you live
This is certainly worth the money for a quick reference, but the description of the book is misleading. Maps consist of one each of each state plus a smaller one of that map's location in the U.S.--I suppose that makes it "packed with maps" by the sheer number of states involved. And, there are no quizzes that I could find, which was the main reason I purchased this book. But it is full of lots of good information about each of the states with some mention of the territories and Washington D.C.
*great on the basics of this country ie. Geography and FACTS..
