This is a perfect read for a vacation, a rainy day, or just about anytime! The characters are developed and complex, but are also real and relatable. The themes of friendship, romance, family, committment, and trust weave an enthalling tale. The twists in the plot, especially toward the end of the book make the book truly memorable. I highly recommend this book!
A LIterary Page Turner

I loved this tough and tenderhearted novel. Wow. I'm so in awe of the way Curran switches pov between the friends and makes them all sympathetic--and really distinct characters. Well, mostly all sympathetic. I was deeply involved with Tessa and her plight...Curran portrays Tessa's struggle with anorexia in a realistic and compassionate way. And on top of all this, Everyone She Loved is a page turner as well. Sheila Curran done REAL good with this one.
Thoughtful, complex novel

Everyone She Loved is a thoughtful and thought-provoking novel. The premise draws you in but Curran's carefully-drawn characters keep you reading. As a mother, I was especially moved by the thread of the story that follows two young girls as they try to make sense of the world after the death of their mother. For me, Curran captured the fear I carry deep inside but rarely admit to about what might happen to my children if I died-- fears about who would love and protect them in my place, who might use them for selfish purposes, who would accompany them on the journey of motherless childhood, who would move heaven and earth to keep them safe. The characters in Everyone She Loved are profoundly and painfully human. They possess talents and capacities for selflessness, emotional wounds and secrets, jealousy, lust and love. The emotional complexity of this book makes it more than simple beach reading, but Curran leavens her story with moments of humor, tenderness, and joy. I highly recommend Everyone She Loved.
