I have been looking for a good AutoCAD book for a while to refresh my skills. I learned AutoCAD 2000 in High School, but it has been a while since I have used the program and I needed a book to refresh my memory. I have looked at quite a few AutoCAD books and they are also reference books for the commands that do not have any practical exercises or examples. This book is different. It has plenty of examples along with the commands which is much better for refreshing my memory of AutoCAD. It is also easy to follow, but not so easy to follow its boring or feels like it drags on too long. So if you are new to AutoCAD or looking for a book to refresh your memory like I was, this is the book to buy and read. Also, if you are truly a beginner, there is a beginner's book by the same author, which is excellent also. Plus there is a reference book by the same author which is very useful once you are competent with AutoCAD for looking up commands, etc.
Excellent book for novice learners

This book together with its first sequel are excellent learning tools for those who do not know anything about AutoCad and want to start learning it. The best part is the layout and page setups teaching in an easy way how to properly set up a complete decimal or Feet and Inch setup with all necessary details (like title borders with attributes, dimension styles, etc...). Novice learners need a simple book rather than complicated books to start learning a complex software like AutoCad and this book does the job!
