Most believers understand that worship is not a compartmentalized aspect of the Christian experience, but rather it is the motivation--the driving force--behind all that we do and are. We exist to... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I can't say enough about this book! It may be small, but it is incredibly insightful and inspiring. If you're a worshipper (and we all should be) read this book.
Facedown

Matt Redmon's "Facedown" is a fresh look into what he describes as an uncompromising attitude toward worship. As a musician, Matt has a straight-ahead un-cluttered style of getting his point across very clear-cut, and pointedly spoken in song. As he writes "Facedown", very similarly he brings his points out in the foreground and makes a strong effort to explain the reasoning to support his feelings. "Facedown" may be considered provocative and old-fashioned all in the same sentence, because they require an intense look into how worship is defined. Modern interpretations depict worship as a very 'relative', 'post-modern' approach to a varied and elusive God. But Matt strives to bring worship back to being personal, yet reverent according to Who God is, not how we decide to mold God into our own fickle definitions. "Facedown" might be labeled as old-school re-discovered with a vibrant heart. It is a short read, but with a compact formula of profound dimensions. A diamond shines with brilliance because it is a compound uniquely compressed, under extreme pressure. Give "Facedown" a chance to show some of its brilliance in your life as you view worship like you've probably never done before.

Matt Redman released his CD "Facedown" and I don't think people really understood what he meant in the title, maybe they did, but they didn't completely understand it. Matt Redman puts that into his words in this book. Give us a totally new perspective of worshipping, on how it should really be. I must agree with him, how he says when you are truly worshipping you will be facedown before the lord, giving him everything you have. Everyone should pick up a copy of this book.
Challenging! Inspiring! Biblically-Solid!

Facedown is a companion volume to Matt Redman's album of the same name. But don't think it's just a fluffy little book meant to make some money off the popularity of the CD. Facedown is a well-researched, well-written, moving treatise on worship as a response to God's majesty and glory. Redman, an extraordinary songwriter, is also a fine prose-writer. He makes his points clearly and elegantly. Every worship leader and worship songwriter should read this book. But it's not just for worship insiders. It will help every reader to worship God more fully and humbly. I highly recommend this book. For a more in-depth review, see my website: www.markdroberts.com.
