Intriguing Plot

Reviewed by Debra Gaynor for Reader Views (11/06) While Luc heard the sound of the ball striking the bat, the murderer of eighteen-year-old Angel here's the sound of a gun. "It is a sad day when an Angel dies. So I have to ask this. How many angels have to fall before we stand up and take notice? How many more Angels have to die before we realize there is a larger problem that needs to be fixed?" A frantic call from Mattie concerning her missing husband sends Luc rushing to her side and old feelings for her begin to haunt him. Now he's become a suspect. Luc was jealous of Spencer throughout college. He seen to have everything Luc had ever wanted, a loving family and a beautiful wife. He was jealous but the two remained friends. "I was starting to worry that Spencer was no longer alive...there was a good chance he was already dead...I still needed to know why. I needed to find him not only for Mattie. I now needed to know if he was the same man I had met in college. I needed to know what went wrong and how badly he had screwed up his life." When Luc pulled the knife and held it to the face of the "child" in the alley I was shocked. He had a good reason but this part of the book grabbed me for it helped define the character of Luc. Luc is strong and independent. He takes nothing off of anyone. Mattie is beautiful, strong, independent and married to a man she's not in love with. Luc had no idea he was the man. This book has an intriguing plot. There are many unexpected twists and turns. The pages just couldn't turn fast enough; I could hardly wait to see what would happen on the next page. This book has something for everyone, intrigue, mystery and romance. I highly recommend "Falling Angels."

My husband and I are avid readers of authors like James Patterson, J. A. Jance, John Sanford and this book rates right up there with these established authors. It is the kind of book that grabs you and you can't put it down. We are looking forward to her next book.
Life in LA, the good the bad and the ugly!

The first part of the book really grabs you and you want to know more. But then I became impatient. Ms. Garcia teases you with the disappearance of Matties husband in the very first chapter but then spent many chapters telling you about Mattie's and Luc's history until you are so tied up with information you realize you can't put the book down! Ms. Garcia also tells you this is a mystery but fails to let you know that it's also a great love story. The story also talks about the LA I grew up in which made it personal for me.
